ITsManaged was established in 2001, in offices in Mulgrave at the ex BHP research centre, before moving to Moorabbin in 2006. Moorabbin has lots of space, and enabled us to build a high security, environmentally controlled server room reducing our dependence on third parties for provision of server rack space and high speed connectivity that was secure to our standards. Being on the ground floor it also made it so much easier for us to move heavy equipment in and out! The idea of managed services originally came from a service delivery model used by our former employer; an IT Security Company in Flemington Victoria, where several of us worked at. This "Managed Service" business model rested on the fact that few businesses could afford the specialised skills to do Security properly - it was therefore wise to outsource to a capable, skilled and focused Security services provider. ITsManaged extended and refined this basic idea. It was clearly the perfect model for small business where the idea of hiring a full time skilled IT engineer is neither economically viable nor a particularly good idea. For one, IT is a broad discipline with many specialisations and finding a suitable candidate with a good, broad and practical grasp of all the disciplines required by a small business is near on impossible. Second, who can afford to hire staff to maintain and support IT exclusively?Instead, someone in the office is charged with looking after the IT and they co-ordinate product and service vendors to achieve their aims. However time and budget is always tight and most revert to doing the absolute minimum to try and ensure systems are working and arranging to fix them when they don't. This approach costs you more than a poerpely managed service and here is why:
We've seen this cycle occur over and over again, and for us (and our clients) the solution and relief has come through managed services. There are several competitors (which is healthy!), but we can safely claim we offer customised solutions that fit your business rather than the more common, 'one size fits all' approach offered (by necessity) by others. Our research indicates that we are the only managed services organisation with this capability in the World, and, coupled with our arsenal of inovations, we are confident that we are leading the world in small business managed services. |
